Total has extended one of its fiveiaeejpvyater blocks off Mauritania but handed back another where it "drifted a disappointing wildcat last year. The company first entered the country in 2012 when it took Blocks C7 (90%), C9 (50%) and C18 (90%). It has now extended the latter with a commitment to drill. However, it has handed back the most southerly of the trio - Block C9. This was the location for its first wildcat in the region when it drilled the Richat well using the Santa Ana drillship last year.
