摘要

This research aims to study the chosen and care practices of kitchen towels and their relation to potential health hazards (microbial contamination) and related factors. In order to achieve this research, the study included two parts. The first part is the field study, where the data are collected using a questionnaire for a sample of 180 female heads of households In Alexandria. The second part is a laboratory study to determine the number and types of microbes in kitchen towels for a sample of 8 female heads of households. To achieve the research objectives, the data were processed statistically using the SPSS program to determine the percentages, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, simple correlation coefficient, Kay square test, and regressionfunction as statistical methods for presenting and discussing the research results.The most important results were:1- Results of the field study:The low level of care and chosen practices and types of raw materials for kitchen towels for the respondents.A significant correlation at the probability level (0.05) and a strong moral level at the probability level (0.01) between some social and economic characteristics, kitchen conditions, types of towels raw materials in the kitchen and care practices of kitchen towels.By using the Kay Square, there are significant differences between the socio-economic characteristics of the kitchen conditions and types of towels in the kitchen and the practices of care with kitchen towels.2. The results of the laboratory study:The results showed a correlations between parameters such as some social and economic characteristics, kitchen conditions, types of towels raw materials in the kitchen, practices of care of kitchen towels and total number of microbes, the number of pathogenic microbes and potential health risks.
