In its report,titled Industrial Lubricants Market Size,Share,Trends,Growth Opportunity and Forecast 2019-2026,Acumen Research and Consulting projected the industrial lubricants market to reach $72.4 billion by 2026.The report notes that expected improvements to purchasing managers’indexes worldwide and resulting growth in manufacturing capacity should boost demand for industrial lubricants.In addition,one key finding from the report is the inevitable optimization of business growth through strategies such as joint ventures,capacity expansion,new product development,and research and development investments.Researchers at Fraunhofer Institute for Mechanics of Materials IWM have found that using additives to modify water could result in its use as a viable lubricant for machine bearings.According to Fraunhofer IWM,the researchers were able to solve the corrosion problem of water-based lubricants by establishing an electrochemical field produced by the bearing.The lubricant itself consists of water mixed with ionic liquids.Fraunhofer has successfully developed and demonstrated the new method on sintered slide bearings and says this new water-based lubricating method could also be used in precision engineering.
