摘要

An encoder receives an unencoded input and output it as an encoded result. For example, it is a combinational logic circuit that takes a decimal or octal number as an input and converts it into binary or BCD-like code. Priority encoders are relatively focused on solving various existingwell-known problems. In this paper, we propose a 4-to-2 priority encoder using a 7-input majority gate based on multi-layer quantum-dot cellular automata which has an excellent expandability and modularity. In order to minimize the number of gate, we use a 7-input majority gate to express4-input OR gate and multi-layer structure to optimize an area and time efficiency.
