Filament winding and automated fibre placement in one cell

摘要

A production cell capable of switching from filament winding (FW) to automated fibre placement (AFP) processes in a matter of minutes has been developed by Mikrosam of Prilep, Macedonia. The production cell features an interchangeable 16-tow AFP head equipped with an infra-red (IR) heating device and is designed for the automated bi-directional lay-up of thermoset prepreg tapes. The filament winder performs the wet and dry winding of carbon, glass or aramid fibres.
