World's thinnest carbon prepreg and foam sandwich materials

North Thin Ply Technology (NTPT) is working with 4a manufacturing to develop carbon prepreg foam sandwich materials, which the two companies claim to be the thinnest in the world. 4a manufacturing of Traboch, Austria, produces hard foam sheets (Millifoam) of a minimum thickness of 0.2 mm and combines them with metal skins to form ultra-thin sandwich materials (Cimera). These are used in a range of markets from micro-speakers for consumer electronics to ultra-light sports equipment.
