Indocyanine green videoangiography (ICGV) in parasagittal meningiomas surgery. Considerations on veins management and brain function preservation

We did appreciate the Letter entitled "The role of indocyanine green videoangiography (ICGV) in surgery of parasagittal meningiomas" by Ferroli P et al. [4]. We thank the Authors for giving further input to the discussion on this fascinating topic. We would like to take this opportunity to reply to the Authors, and to make some further considerations on the crucial issue of vein management in this specific surgery. First of all, we would like to point out that our previous paper [2] dealt with the use of ICGV on meningiomas completely occluding the sagittal superior sinus (SSS), not with parasagittal meningiomas in general. For this reason, we did not describe any "decision making process about venous sacrifice" [4] and we did not treat "the problem of vein sacrifice" [4].
