This paper deals with the alternating current distribution in annular multilayer cables composed of power-law cryoconductive tapes, i.e. tapes for which the resistivity rho Is proportional to a power n of the current density (rho = kJ(n)). An analytic expression is given for the penetration distance of the current density into the cable from the outer surface. in typical examples, unless the tapes are fully transposed, the current flows in the outer few layers.
