Chaotic study of film boiling in superfluid helium

There are two basic film boiling modes: noisy film boiling and silent film boiling, and also a transition boiling in He II. Pressure oscillations during boiling show that there are sharp differences among them. Chaotic analysis method is introduced into the analysis of film bailing. Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT) results reveal that film boiling has highly non-linear characteristics. Time series analysis, power density spectrum and state-space can reveal a dynamic aspect of film boiling of He II in time domain and frequency domain. And further more, Lyapunov exponent provides a convenient way to get a whole dynamic trend of film boiling in He II. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved. [References: 4]
