THE FUTURE OF SEED WORK IN THE HEARTLAND

THE NUMBER OF FARMS IN THE U.S. where biodynamic principles and practices are applied is minute. On the east and west coasts, there are wonderful specimens within a couple hours of each other and, in some cases, a few minutes. In the Midwest, this isnot the case, where there may be ten to twenty hours between farms. Farmers are suited to work together, and it is ideal when they are closer together. Striving to add a "stepping stone" to the network of farms in the middle of the country, the Corymb family decided to return to the heartland of the U.S. and create a farm individuality that could be a source of quality seed—an urgent need for our times. This is a brief account of that adventure, with a projection into the future.
