Along with the many cancer treatment approaches ranging from surgery and radiation to chemotherapy or immunotherapy, millions of people seek additional options as CAM. The term complementary medicine refers to interventions that are not part of conventional medical care but are delivered alongside, as a complement to them. Alternative medicine replaces standard anticancer treatments with other approaches that may include supplements, diets developed to combat cancer, lifestyle changes, and sometimes other interventions.
