An industrial edge computer is being used in warehouse packing operations to help optimise workflow. Having proven its value in trials at Harting's own warehouse packing facility in the company's connector manufacturing plant at Espelkamp in Germany, the MICA modular industrial edge computer is now at the heart of a system for workflow optimisation in warehouse packing stations, bringing the benefits of process optimisation for increased productivity as well as integrating incompatible hardware and software and simplifying the job of the packing operative.
