摘要

I investigated the attributes of the home ranges of a population of the striped plateau lizard (Sceloporus virgatus) in the Chiricahua Mountains of southeastern Arizona. Mean home range size was 264.7 ± 28.9 m2. Adult males had larger home ranges than females. Individuals on north and south facing slopes, as well as individuals in two structurally different habitats, had similar home range sizes and overlaps. Tail loss did not have any influence on adult home range size. An individual's home range on average overlapped nearly six other home ranges. The degree of overlap averaged 57%. Males with larger home ranges overlapped more female home ranges. Individuals with larger home ranges grew slower than individuals with smaller home ranges.
