Pakistani steel plant mulls raising expansion goal

Aisha Steel Mills is considering increasing total production capability almost four-fold to 850,000 t/y, saidCEO Munir Ahmed.With a current nameplate capacity of 220,000 t/y at its rolling mill near Port Qasim, Pakistan, the company isworking on a PKR5.4 bn ($50.8 M, ?43.2M) project to take that to 700,000 t/y in the next 18 months. Coldrolled coils will account for 450,000 t of that capacity and the rest will be galvanised iron.
