Across the Cotton Belt, Deltapine Class of '20 cotton varieties are drawing the attention of growers as many get into full harvest swing.In the deep South, DP 2038 B3XF is showing potential to take acres away from the popular DP 1646 B2XF. Preston Shipes in Headland, Alabama evaluated DP 2038 B3XF in his 2019 New Product Evaluator (NPE) plots where it averaged 2,100 lbs/ acre. In August 2020, Shipes liked what he saw with this variety offering bacterial blight resistance*"It has an extremely good boll load with bolls bigger than other varieties," he said. "I've seen good heat tolerance in this variety. It has handled the stress we've had better than other varieties. I like what I see and think it is going to be the nextbig thing for down here. I am very well pleased with this variety right now."
