The global copper tube industry slowed for the second consecutive quarter between October and December 2017, as Chinese production and consumption growth slowed, and the US market declined again on a year-on-year basis. Elsewhere, growth in output also turned negative in North East Asia, following two quarters of increases at 6% y-o-y plus. In Western Europe, volumes were again supported by a rebounding Italian market. We estimate that global copper tube output increased by 5.1% y-o-y in the fourth quarter of 2017.
