Brazilian mills unable to implement full price hike

Brazilian sheet prices have remained stable m/m despite efforts from mills to fully implement the hike announced at the end of March. Poor demand conditions have prevented the full hike to stick, and thus, frustrated the attempt of local producers to increase the domestic price premium over imports, which is currently at around 5% for HR coil and 6% for CR coil (see chart).
