Individuals With Autism Spectrum Disorder. A Study of the Age of Attaining Daytime Dryness

Successful completion of toilet training is an essential adaptive skill and a key milestone. Data from 583 children with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis confirmed by the Simons Simplex Collection were examined regarding their age at attainment of daytime dryness using the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised and compared with a model for attaining daytime dryness. Results from x2 analysis indicated that children with ASD were much more likely to be delayed in achieving the developmental milestone of daytime dryness.
