Work is under way on the establishment of a’Material Stewardship Program’that will underpin efforts to maintain a”sustainable lead supply chain”,Pb2019 was told.Outgoing president of Eurobat,Johann-Friedrich Dempwolff,told the conference the move would establish a common approach of the main lead producers and users”to secure the future of the lead battery industry”.Details of the initiative will be made available in the run up to the formal rolling out of the programme in the months ahead.But Dempwolff unveiled a draft set of guiding principles,set to be endorsed by organisations involved in November 2019,”that will define our commitment”.
