Many uncertainties remain surrounding America's looming energy transition. The country's renewable energy capacity has surpassed even the most ambitious expectations of a decade ago, thanks to plummeting installed costs and ongoing state- and federal-level incentives. Such disruption, however, poses important and, to a degree, unanswered questions about the US grid's transformation.
