We have all done it. We have ambitions, urgent needs, results to prove, or targets to meet. We make a plan and get started. On the way we pick up indicators that show how we are progressing. These may be results from tests, reactions of customers, feedback from staff, anyone of a number of ways that give hints or indicators of the likelihood of success. Sometimes, negative indicators can be ignored or pushed to the backofyour mind and denied real scrutiny. Focusing on the positives allows us to keep our enthusiasm and confidence at a high level. We can always convince ourselves that the odds are in our favour. As we all know, having a positive mental attitude is often encouraged as the key to ensuring success. Sometimes, however, that little voice in the back of our mind needs to be heard.
