摘要

Two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials possess extraordinarily high specific surface areas and exceptional mechanical, electrical, optical and thermal properties, enabling attractive applications in construction materials ranging from structural strength/ durability improvement to advanced functionalities such as functional coating, smart sensing, energy saving, and so on. Recent research studies have demonstrated that a range of 2D nanomaterials have the ability to transform conventional construction materials into smarter, stronger and more durable advanced materials. This review provides a comprehensive overview on the state-of-the-art development of novel 2D nanomaterials and their applications in construction and structural materials, pointing out their great potential and future perspectives.
