On the site of a community swimming pool nestled along the coastline of an historic Moroccan port now stands an edifice so impressive that its sheer size and impact cannot be overstated. Comprising 300,000 m3 of reinforced concrete, 40,000 m3 of steel, and 8,400,000 m2 of formwork, the Hassan II Mosque boasts the highest minaret in the world and took seven years to complete.
