New prophylaxis methods for adverse events of uterine compression sutures: Removing compression threads

Complications after uterine compression suture (UCS), such as uterine necrosis or synechiae (1), have attracted obstetricians' attention. Staff et al. (2) added another, secondary infertility due to UCS threads within the uterine cavity. Williams obstetrics (3) describes that "precise frequency (of complication) is unknown, but it is likely low"; however, obstetricians are concerned about it (1). Staff et al. (2) recommended to use rapidly absorbable threads and to employ hysteroscopy if indicated, with which I agree. I wish, however, also to introduce other methods for prophylaxis, namely "removing the threads" strategies.
