In his letter to the Editor (1), Monasta is surprised that we, in our analysis of macrosomia as a cause of adverse pregnancy outcome (2), ignored maternal height as an additional determinant. However, this was not the case. Unfortunately, maternal height is not an item of personal data notified to the Medical Birth Registry of Norway. Thus, an analysis including maternal height was not feasible. Certainly, we acknowledge the relevance of this variable to perinatal epidemiology, and maternal anthropometric measures will be included in the forthcoming notification scheme to be implemented by the Medical Birth Registry of Norway.
