摘要

Flower production by grafted roses is usually higher than that by ungrafted ones. It has been suggested that the advantage of using a rootstock lies in its effects on N metabolism in the grafted plants. Experiments on rose cultivars Ilseta and Mercedes showed that grafting by itself, without introducing the root system of another cultivar (i.e. autografting), affected nitrate reductase activity (NRA) significantly in the leaves and roots of graftlings. There was only a slight effect on glutamine synthetase [glutamate-ammonia ligase] activity (GSA). However, GSA in leaves of Ilseta and Mercedes was higher when they were grafted on R. indica [R. chinensis] rootstocks. In older plants, grafting and rootstock had a marked effect on NRA and GSA. Markeddifferences were also observed in the protein profiles of leaves of Mercedes grafted on different rootstocks.
