摘要

High temperature oxidation of a new #alpha#+#beta# titanium alloy.A new #alpha#+#beta# titanium alloy Ti-Mo_(4.84-Ta_(4.34) alloy named TMT has been oxidised under anatmospheric pressure of oxygen above the #alpha#<->#beta# transformation temperature.The oxidation resistance increases stronglyas compared topure titanium (almost 50%),which is mainly due to both alloying elements.The oxygen dissolution involves the #alpha# phase precipitation from the #beta# phase,which becomes enriched with Ta and Mo.The diffusion takes place along #alpha# precipitates,whose orientations may depart from the normal to the surface.Diffusionis also discussed with regards to phase stability and our results are compared to literature data.
