Energy Industries' highspeed reciprocating compressors: Product line evolved from Holt's purchase of Chicago Pneumatic high-speed balanced-opposed compressor line in 1980
The Holt business tradition goes back to the mid-1880s when Benjamin Holt produced his first horse-drawn, link-belt combined harvester. Holt moved the growing business to Peoria, Illinois and, in 1925, merged his company with the Best Tractor Co. to form the Caterpillar Tractor Co.
