Leafy single node cuttings of potatoes cv. Benimaru were cultured in vitro photoautotrophically under 4 light cycle treatments (16 h light/8 h dark, 4 h light/2 h dark, 1 h light/0.5 h dark or 0.25 h light/0.125 h dark). The daily CO2 exchange per plantlet and dry weight increase were greater in the shorter photoperiod treatments.
