Army test pilots fly V-280 Valor

A BELL V-280 Valor tilt-rotor was flown in August by experimental test pilots at US Army Redstone Test Center (RTC). They were conducting flights for the future vertical lift (FVL) future long-range assault aircraft (FLRAA) selection program. The FLRAA aircraft will replace the Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk and the army says the program is on track for full-rate production by 2030. Similar flights are scheduled later this year for the Sikorsky-Boeing SB-1 Defiant, the competing FLRAA design.
