THE CALIFORNIA AIR National Guard (ANG) is a relative newcomer to the air superiority king that is the F 15C Eagle. After reaching full operating capability (FOC) with the mighty Eagle in May, the 194th Fighter Squadron 'Griffins' was almost immediately called into action and forward-deployed as an Expeditionary Fighter Squadron (EFS) to undertake a Theater Security Package (TSP) mission to Europe. The deployment was the icing on the cake for the airmen of the California ANG unit, being a great test of readiness with its new mounts.
