An upward price trend is expected to persist in the global market for flatproducts throughout Q3. Higher FOB-quotations will affect domestic prices forstrip in Russia and Ukraine in different ways. In particular, given an $20-35/texpected increase in FOB-quotations for HR products in Russia in July, the gapbetween domestic and export prices will keep narrowing there. As a result,domestic prices are likely to stay unchanged in July. The situation is quitecontrary in Ukraine ? domestic prices are much lower than export offers andwill go up next month. In August-September, quotations of feedstock for weldedpipes production will grow in Russia and Ukraine. Changes in the productioncost will make producers revise prices for finished longs.
