Morphology and anatomy of the stigma and nectar-secretory gland of apricot cultivars

A study was carried out on 4 cultivars (Bergeron, Borsi-fele Kesei Rozsa, Gonci Magyar Kajszi and Cegledi Orias) growing at Kecskemet, Hungary. The stigma was generally elliptical in shape with a papillate and domed surface. Deep interlacing was observed, the dimensions of which varied between cultivars. Stigma size varied between cultivars but was unstable from year to year. The nectariferous areas were orange-coloured and the secretory glands were epimorphic or automorphic.
