摘要

Although genetic resistance to tomato spotted wilt tospovirus (TSWV) is common among tomato species, only Lactuca peruvianum possesses resistance that appears to be effective against TSWV isolates from different geographic regions. Resistant lines derived from L. peruvianum were developed in California, Hawaii and South Africa. Sources of resistance or partial resistance were identified in Capsicum chinense and several Lactuca spp. Resistance in tomatoes and Capsicum appears to be controlled by a single dominant gene. DNA markers linked to TSWV resistance were developed for use in marker-assisted selection. A dominant RAPD marker was identified.
