We read with interest the meta-analysis by Enestvedt et al1 of split-dose polyethylene glycol (PEG) for bowel preparation for colonoscopy that determined the superiority of this bowel preparation method over traditional preceding day preparation. This may be the final evidence required to convert units to this method of bowel preparation. However, the afternoon list is still free. The evidence that the polyp miss rate is higher in the afternoon2 because of a higher unsatisfactory bowel preparation3 has not fully been answered by the use of split-dose preparation, which requires dietary adjustment and early morning rising with 5 am typical to start the second dose.
