Incidental Detection of Hypothyroidism on Ga-68-PSMA-HBED-CC PET/CT Imaging

Ga-68-labeled prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) ligand PET/CT is a rapidly evolving imaging modality for prostate cancer. However, with the widespread use of Ga-68-PSMA PET/CT, various reports of nonprostatic uptake of Ga-68-PSMA in both benign and malignant lesions have also appeared. We report a recently diagnosed case of prostate cancer demonstrating diffuse Ga-68-PSMA expression in both the lobes of thyroid gland, which on further clinical and biochemical investigations was established as hypothyroidism.
