The 2017 hurricane season appears headed toward being the most costly in history. Early projections following Hurricane Harvey estimate die damages might exceed that of Katrina and Super Storm Sandy combined. At the time of this writing, Hurricane Irma is on a devastating path through several Caribbean islands and being proclaimed the fiercest CAT 5 Atlantic hurricane to affect Florida since Hurricane Andrew in the early 1990s.
