Bivalent inhibitors of cholera toxin

Cholera toxin is the enterotoxin produced by Vibrio ehoterae, the causal agent of cholera, which is responsible for several hundred thousand deaths worldwide each year. Currently, there are no effective small molecule prophylactics or therapeutics available that block the action of cholera toxin and the development of such drugs is of significant interest.
