EARTH IS MY MOTHER, SKY FATHER

摘要

In Rig Veda, Earth is called our Mother. But of course,.. there is no such insistence that she is mother only of homo sapiens or humans. She is mother of all living beings, from loftiest humans to lowliest cockroaches to tiniest microbes and protozoa. We take pride in thinking that we know so much more than those ancient Rishis, who heard Vedas from gods (shruties), but when we think that we know more, we should also reflect on how much more there remains to be known.
