AMENDMENT IN SCOMET RELATED POLICY BY DIRECTORATE GENERAL FOREIGN TRADE (DGFT) - EFFECTIVE FROM 1 MAY 2017

Government of India, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Department of Commerce, Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued Notifications with respect to Special Chemicals, Organisms, Materials, Equipment and Technologies (SCOMET) on 24 April 2017. The entire SCOMET list has been re-issued and all previous notifications in this regard are no more valid. Significant number of changes to SCOMET have been carried out to harmonize with the guidelines and control lists of the Wassenar Arrangement and the Australia Group, two multilateral export control regimes that India wishes to join.
