Improvement in infrastructure is a key lever to achieve a double digit growth of chemical industry in India over the coming decades. Role of Public Private Partnerships (PPP) for development of common production and distribution infrastructure cannot be undermined. Chemical industry's contribution to socio, economic and ecological balance requires responsible handling of chemicals, from cradle to grave. Chemical Industry in India has to focus on Transport Distribution Safety (TDS) and Emergency Response (ER) to achieve this balance. Responsible Care~R initiatives of chemical companies would fall short of their objectives, if efficient solution to implementation of TDS and ER is not established.
