摘要

Potato is one of the most valuable non- cereal food crops grown in Karnataka. Among the several pests and diseases, root-knot and cysts nematodes have been recognized as major nematode pests of potato (Krishna prasad, 1986). As there is no much information available, the present study on the effect of different inocula and screening of available cultivars / lines against the root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita was taken up. For pathogenicity studies, fifteen day-old seedlings of var. Kufri Jyothi maintained in earthen seed pans, containing 2 kg sterilized soil were inoculated with 0, 10, 100, 1,000, 10,000 juveniles of Meloidogyne incognita per pot. All the treatments were replicated four times. The experiment was terminated at 50 days afternematode inoculation and observations on characters of host and nematode were recorded.
