TRITERPENE SAPONINS FROM BRANCHES OF Pinus massoniana

Two triterpene saponins, including a new one named ursolic acid 3-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl (1 ''- 2 ')[beta-D-glucopyranosyl(1 '''- 3 ')]-beta-D-glucuronopyranoside-28-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (1), and a known one, androseptoside A (2), were isolated from branches of Pinus massoniana by repeated column chromatography and vacuum liquid chromatography. The chemical structures of the two triterpene saponins were characterized mainly on the basis of their MS, IR, ID and 2D NMR spectra, as well as by comparison with the literature.
