World environment ministers meeting at the third UN Environment Assembly (Unea3) in Nairobi have issued a ministerial declaration, pledging to adopt policies and approaches that address hazardous chemicals as part of pollution reduction. These will include "the environmentally sound management of chemicals and waste, including the use of integrated lifecycle, value chains and sustainable chemistry". (7 December)
