Effectiveness of 3D-CT in an accurate preoperative diagnosis and improving safety of vitrectomy for intraocular foreign body

A 49-year-old man presented with a right eye injury sustained while using a portable wire-brush. The best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was hand motion. Slit-lamp examination (Fig. 1A) detected nasal subconjunctival haemorrhages and a faint edge of a foreign body near the sclera 0.5 mm from the corneal limbus. No traces of aqueous leakage from the wound were observed. The lens and anterior chamber were intact except for slight hyphaema, and the fundus and vitreous cavity could not be visualized because of vitreous haemorrhage.
