IDENTIFICATION OF MAIZE GENOTYPES UNDER MEDIUM MATURITY GROUP FOR TURCICUM LEAF BLIGHT RESISTANCE

摘要

MEDIUM maturity maize genotypes form one of the important maize maturity groups which are well suited for irrigated and rainfed conditions. However, this group is most commonly ravaged by a leaf blight disease caused by Exserohilum turcicum (Pass) Leonard and Suggs in southern Karnataka. Realising the importance of this disease, experiments were conducted during two seasons at ARS, Negenahally to identify TLB resistant maize genotypes under medium maturity.
