Use of assisted reproductive technologies (ART) increases the risk of pregnancy with more than 1 embryo, which is associated with an increased risk of preterm birth. Preterm birth is an important risk factor for infant morbidity and mortality and can lead to substantial burdens for health care systems and caregivers.
