SIS members are instrumental in new Science Museum gallery

On 12 September, the Science Museum in London will open a new free gallery, Science City 1550-1800: The Linbury Gallery. It will explore how London's scientists and instrument-makers helped to shape the city and transform our understanding of the natural world over 250 years. Alongside the gallery the museum has been running several participation projects, working with people from different groups to bring a range of new perspectives and expertise to the collections. SIS members have been contributing by enhancing cataloguing information for instruments which will appear in the gallery (Fig. 1) and in the museum's online collection database.
