SURVEY INTO THE HACKITT REVIEW RECOMMENDATIONS

The final Report of Independent Review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety was published on 18 May 2018. The review made 53 specific recommendations to the Governmentincluding the introduction of a new safety regime for High Rise Residential Buildings (HRRBs), the creation of a new super regulator called the Joint Competent Authority (JCA), revised roles for Local Authority Building Control Bodies (LABC) and Approved Inspectors (AI) in relation to HRRBs and an overhauled regulatory framework based on delivering an outcome based system.
