Is it really time for me to write another one of these pages? Another month has flown by and it's fair to say the pace of activity continues. You will be aware that, following on from the recommendations from Dame Judith Hackitt's independent review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety, the Building a Safer Future consultation was issued by MHCLG. As I touched upon in my last president's page it proposes fundamental reform of building safety requirements, and CABE has now provided a response on behalf of our Members following a detailed Member Survey. In addition to this, a number of roundtable workshops, which were chaired by Richard Harral, our Technical Director, have taken place to further identify CABE Members' views and to ensure that these are fed back to the Government as part of the consultation process.
